Interesting discussion about AfD on this week's TrashFuture. Also some prescient comments about Trump's inauguration, considering it was recorded before that happened.

I put this on in the background, prescient nuggets amid the banter :-)

Funny bit at c.22minutes when they look at the choice of the Prince of Darkness to be ambassador .... instead of the career diplomat there who Trump actually gets along with ..

Morning
Today prog not bad earlier --

scathing extract of the US bishop attacking the Trump in the cathedral (their faces are quite something in the vid I posted last night)

Discussion on AI ,Trumpism, with a decent economist prof Tommaso Valletti **, and a 'market' enthusiast , who did have some good points .

New boss of CMA to encourage competition,'growth' etc , but he comes from McKinsey(!!!) and was boss of AmazonUK -- one of the worst employers and as we see a super-monopolistic business . ffs.

Jeremy Bowen et al on Trump's mates those thuggish Israeli 'settlers' .

** Well within living memory Today had a 'Running Order' on the home page, where you could look up the often mumbled names etc of interviewees, and listen again to particular conversations . Handy as a programme of record , unsurprisingly It was discontinued when some Tory became editor . (Perhaps I'm unfair there, perhaps cost-cutting by BBC beancounters ? )

I checked --

"Sarah Sands (née Harvey; born 3 May 1961) is a British journalist and author. A former editor of the London Evening Standard, she was editor of Today on BBC Radio 4 from 2017 to 2020."

Obviously he can't be a neo-Nazi because he supports Israel .
Faultless logic :-)

Soon altered (for some strange reason) but they definitely spun it being an out of court settlement as a win for Murdoch.

(it was, needless to say, anything but)

Party of the people everyone. Backing the working person to the hilt. Making sure they don't get ripped off as prices rise...oh
