" Nicolò Tamberi, of the Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy at the University of Sussex in the UK, said uncertainty deterred investment as corporations adopted a wait-and-see policy before deciding how to adjust their supply chains.
“The [academic] literature suggests the effects of uncertainty can be as bad as tariffs, and there is a massive amount of uncertainty here. So even if Trump does deals to avoid tariffs’ impacts today, maybe he will change his mind tomorrow,” he said.
Market investors may also adopt a wait-and-see strategy before assuming the turmoil has ended."
Well FT, that wasn't rocket science !

Do they also do a full police check too ?
I've just tried to book a ticket for the consultation in Leeds. It says sold out but I'll follow the advice and persevere.
I would say it boggles the mind that Labour are even being underhand in how they're manipulating the process of people attending a public consultation but we've reached the stage now where I expect nothing less.

Complete coincidence time
" Douglas Alexander, the minister for trade policy and economic security, is paying a visit to Beijing this week for talks with Chinese counterparts. He is also due to visit Hainan and Hong Kong.
Alexander’s trip, which does not appear to have been publicised anywhere by the UK or Chinese governments, coincided with an unannounced visit to China by Adm Sir Tony Radakin, the head of the British military, for the first time in a decade. "
