Good morning from Lower Normandy , where it is actually not-raining and the forecast shows a few warm days ahead with wind but no rain until next Monday when it pisses down !
Two very good business-interviews on R4 earlier . First with a Sheffield stainless steel manufacturer on those Trump-tariffs , where the US doesn't make enough of its own and importers are desperate for supplies while pushing up prices to their own US customers .... mmmmm !
Next came Sir 'XYZ' , founding member of ARM business et al , but R4 stopped publishing its 'Running Order' in 2016,, so I can't find his name ! He and others are working on a UK AI initiative, but of course Starmer will ignore them as he grovels to Trump, NVidia and the other yanks . Change that to 'GROVELS' .

After reading Froggies tweet above about the far right in the North East I'd be intrigued to know why they're going to be turning up in Newcastle because they 'think it's the heart of Brexit', when Newcastle in fact voted to remain.
I was talking to friend over the weekend who lectures at Leeds Beckett university. She was telling me that she and her colleagues have been getting concerned enquiries from foreign students and their parents asking if it's actually safe to come and study in this country. Which is entirely new, they've never been asked questions like this before.
It's appalling, especially when the best we get from the government is Wes Streeting coming out with bollocks like this:

Sorry, I'm boring even myself repeating this stuff. I'm just so...I wouldn't say angry, that doesn't do it justice, more infuriated with a large dollop of exasperation on the side.
