A Labour-linked lobbying firm that has paid to sponsor the party’s conference has been given access to a briefing on Sir Keir Starmer’s crunch keynote speech, The i Paper can reveal.
The briefing for MPs and peers will be hosted on Monday in a hub sponsored by Anacta, which markets itself as a “Labour-specialist” agency providing “political intelligence” for organisations that want to understand the government.
Its current clients include the Israeli-owned arms firm Pearson Engineering, Sky, trade associations for airlines and amusements, and others ranging across the green industry, transport and tech.

In another i-paper article --
" Oliver Louis, chairman of the Weston branch of Reform UK, also believes British politics has become closer to US politics. “It’s more presidential,” he says. “Now it’s a lot more about the person.”
While Reform UK came third in the election here last year, its candidate secured the largest increase in the share of the vote. Louis says he believes Reform will win in Weston next time and rejects suggestions Farage is stirring up people’s worst instincts. “Immigration is number one of the public’s concerns and it should be dealt with appropriately,” he adds.

Do you mean Newcastle-upon-Tyne? Just got back from the counter-demo. They were outnumbered and seen off with their tails between their legs.
No pasaran!
The Scots on the thread don't want them back as well !

It's that mercifully brief time of the year again where Sky regrets the law he imposed on himself when he was young and stupid that he's not allowed to put the heating/fire on until October.
Just two more days of freezing my arse off to survive before blessed warmth.
It's ridiculous, I'm currently under a blanket with a hot water bottle.
But rules are rules and I'm a hard Northern lad. At least I used to be. It doesn't help that I've just come back from my parent's house where my Dad had the central heating turned up so high I insisted upon inspecting his wifi thermostat thingy. He was boasting about the fact that he's still wearing shorts and I said yeah that's because you've got this thing set to 23°. I thought about saying he'd probably be more comfortable walking about naked in that heat but nobody wants to see that, least of all me.
