I'm sure the new policy will reverse the trend on this graph.
Any day now.
Any day.

Refit , you were first with this one, and I DID wonder if it was yet more Greeny FakeNews cunningly planted on the RW Press (see Refit's last post Sunday

) .
Last week there was a typically good BBC programme on the DK system and a RW MP interviewed there expressed his misgivings about it .
In fact the law has been used rarely --
Danish police use controversial 'jewellery law' 17 times in last six years

The BBC prog interviewed an Afghan who'd been there 15 years, and had been recently moved out of that area. His social housing at 7000 kroner ( €937) was now let for more than twice that, and people were interviewed saying the area was much safer, more prosperous. Another bit from the RW MP is that they did not touch membership of the ECHR, BUT they did pressure the judicial system to get a bit tougher .
State radio France Culture , on my car radio, is the equivalent of the best of BBC Radio4 --
Before 8AM there was a serious programme on globalised Organised Crime , the really vast extent of money laundering and deep corruption, and the difficulty of all states in fighting it . Last week I heard snatches of a programme on the slowness of the justice system here -- the Police Judiciaire now have a backlog of several million cases to be investigated, rising to nine million by 2030.
Eeeek !
On my way back from Granville the car radio was all about Telegraph, FT, Guardian and other stories on the Shabana Mahmoud speech and her "Moral Mission" . Doubts on all that were well-reported !

Several larfs at the LB --
"
The deputy leader of Reform UK has declined to distance the party from the views of the head of its student wing, who argued that UK-born people from minority ethnic backgrounds are not necessarily British."
Sorry Shabana , your time is up ! You too Rishi
TICE displaying his deep ignorance for all to see, again --
"
He singled out the use of ear defenders in classrooms as a problem, without expaining why.
The sight of children in classes wearing ear defenders – I’m sorry, this is just insane. It’s got to stop. The teachers want it to stop. Heads wanting to stop. It’s not the right way forwards.
Autistic children in particular are often highly sensitive to noise, and some of them wear ear defenders in a classroom setting to minimise the distress they can experience from hearing yelling.
It would be interesting to see a proper factcheck on the allegations as opposed to his er opinions .

Green MP Carla Denyer accuses Shabana Mahmood of trying to "out Reform Reform" and says "toxic racist narratives and the scapegoating of migrants" are to blame for "tearing our country apart" not migrants.
Mahmood: "I couldn't care less what any other political party has to say about these matters"
