Morning all.

https://saturdayread.substack.com/p/a-b ... ast-resortThe danger the Prime Minister finds himself in is only growing. The contempt I mentioned in these pages two weeks ago has not abated; Labour MPs have referred to Starmer’s trip to South Africa for the G20 summit at the end of November as his “gardening leave”. One quipped that the Prime Minister was “enjoying one last holiday”. Several have joked they won’t vote against the Budget because they want to retain the whip for the looming leadership contest. Starmer’s allies’ briefing against Wes Streeting earlier in the month has been seen as a “fundamental breach” even by some of the party’s most loyal footsoldiers. “While they might have moved on, the MPs haven’t,” one MP says.
There is still speculation in Westminster that the Prime Minister could yet seek to save himself by throwing his Chancellor under the bus. One adviser reflects: “If you were Rachel, you would have to be stupid not to wonder if Keir will eventually turn on you, given how ruthless he is.”
-3 when I woke up, according to Google. There was ice inside my car, which was a pain.
My early report was very optimistic, half-asleep glance out of window with my laser-dot thermo, t'was actually --2 and I had to run the car for a bit to de-ice !
So here there is a private company with a public service ethos, --"Vita Kramarenko, 53, has also returned to Kharkiv after two years as a refugee in Germany. “I realised Ukrainian services are best,” she says. “Despite the war, everything works and everything arrives, shelling or not. European services are a myth.”
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/ ... aine-going" Ukraine’s main postal service is, like the country’s rail network, one of its most vital, reliable arteries: a matter of national pride for Ukrainians and incredulity for visiting foreigners.
Nova Poshta, founded 25 years ago, is one of the chief reasons that Ukraine continues to function during a time of extraordinary violence and peril. It is affordable – it costs the equivalent of between £1.50 and £2.20 to send packages of between 5kg and 10kg within Ukraine – and it connects citizens across the nation and beyond, including those at the country’s most precarious, threatened edges."
Gambling firms count cost of the budget
Several UK betting companies have just announced that the budget will hit their profits.
