OCTABKA !

RESIGN ! , pronounced ' Osstaffka ! ' .

In the Ukrainian context this popular reaction to a corrupt government was described by RU and Friends as a "CIA plot to overthrow a democratically-elected government".

But the RU influencing just might now be on the other side as the government (however corrupt) was supporting Ukraine since 2022 ...

Anything to disrupt !

(This is the real Rachel Maddow, I checked :-) )

Well, I've had to cancel my trip to see my family in Bristol. Woke up at 5am with some sort of back spasm and in extreme pain. Took me about an hour to get out of bed. Now moving very slowly around my house and waiting for my GP to phone back.

Merry Christmas all 😅

Good morning, sorry it isn't a good morning.

Slipped disc? It can happen out of nowhere, happened to me when I was literally just standing doing nothing. It was worse the next day, I couldn't get out of bed at all and ended up in A&E, sorry if you didn't want to know that.

If you have any numbness in your lower half, call 999 asap.

It just feels like all the muscles have tightened and don't want to move, rather than anything with my spine. No numbness thank god.

I wouldn't mind a bit of numbness :-)

A slightly displaced vertebra means I can stand up, but moving is the problem . Plenty of paracetamol helps a bit .

I called one osteopath -- he offered a RV for the 5th of jan !

Doc thinks it's just a really bad strain/muscle pull. Prescribed my naproxen (which my neighbour was kind enough to go to the chemist for me).

Fingers crossed !

Everything closing early in my small local town, as they prepare for the Christmas Eve festivities .

Just back from my second shots of the new Magic Drug, nurse reading the small print in the instructions as it was his first time with it .

Managed a very little housework pre some of kids and grandkids tomorrow evening . They come to relax a bit after the classic Norman peasant-families over-eating !

A very quiet and sensible Christmas to all of us! And , if at all possible, a much better New Year. Let the healing hand from above (interpret as you want) clear up the various infirmities reported on this forum recently. Good food, good drink, good presents for all. Not at all bah humbug!
Merry Christmas!

Happy Christmas to all.

A much better New Year is a good thought we should try to hang on to for a while at least.

My New year is looking 'interesting' from one particular angle -- I started a very new drug on the 4th December and I haven't had a transfusion since the 27th of November! ( Instead of fortnightly )

Daughter arrives !:

My neighbours very kindly gave me Xmas dinner, so I didn't miss out. I feel fat.

A belated Merry Christmas.

Here's the local Boxing day 'swim'. As far as I could see nobody actually swam, they just ran in and ran out again. It was all over in about 2 minutes.
