I didn't know that Matt Goodwin had actually been a professor .
Matt Goodwin accused of AI blunders in new book on migration
The Reform UK candidate has been accused of inventing quotes and misunderstanding statistics in Suicide of a Nation, but says critics are ‘left-wing activists’https://archive.ph/wip/DIqob
Silly headline, the important stuff is his oh so biased interpretation of statistics to further an Enoch Powellite mission ?
"" Goodwin responded on X by posting a link to a Birmingham Live news story about Water Mill Primary School in Selly Oak where 31 different languages are spoken. However Twelves said that story was overwhelmingly positive and the school was rated in the top 2 per cent in England. Goodwin said that he had agreed to debate Twelves on GB News this week.
A key criticism is Goodwin’s use of the statistic about English as an additional language (EAL) to claim that “nearly one in four primary school children — and close to one in three nursery children — no longer speak English as their main language”.
A child is designated as EAL if they are exposed to a language other than English at home.
Steve Strand, professor of education at Oxford University and an expert in EAL, said that Goodwin is “just totally misunderstanding what this measure of EAL is. He keeps talking about English not being young people’s first language. But you could be recorded as EAL and still be totally fluent in English. So he’s not really understanding the question that’s asked that underlies that data.”
Goodwin cited Strand’s own research in response, quoting a study that says EAL students have a 22 per cent variation in achievement. Strand said that Goodwin was “quoting correct figures, but he’s misinterpreting them” and the research showed that “on average, levels of achievement of people’s recorded as EAL are about the same or even slightly higher than those recorded by monolingual English”.

Preliminary check on Ama$on, so far just on the latest effort, from a review --
... And the footnotes? There are just 12 in the entire book. Five point to Goodwin’s own Substack. Three literally contain ChatGPT URLs in the source links. He’s since admitted using AI for “datasets” but insists he “cross-checked” everything. If this is the result of cross-checking, I’d hate to see the raw output. The prose itself reads exactly like AI slop: humourless, colourless, repetitive, and pompous, the kind of text that sounds profound until you realise it contains zero original thought or verifiable evidence.
The statistical claims are just as dodgy: unverifiable classroom anecdotes from Bradford, sweeping (and contradicted) assertions about English not being the main language in “virtually all of London,” invented visa numbers, and cherry-picked data that fall apart the moment you look for the original sources. This isn’t scholarship; it’s propaganda generated by a prompt and lightly edited by a man who used to know better.
Save your money. This isn’t a book – it’s a self-published Substack thread inflated into hardback form by Northstar (whoever they are). If you want actual analysis on immigration and identity, read literally anyone else. Goodwin has just committed professional suicide in public.
All good people agree that objection to genocide must stop, so you will be pleased to hear that police take their role incredibly seriously. Armed officers have bravely confronted people carrying marker pens without a licence. Bomb disposal teams have blown up suspicious-looking packages of stationery. Arms factories known as “WH Smiths” have been dismantled. Families have been dragged out of their beds while their homes were torn apart. Pensioners have been put under house arrest and banned from using electronic devices under the harshest possible bail conditions, and yet no one has even been convicted of a crime! This is the brilliance of the war on words—the process is the punishment.
Police were having so much fun living out their authoritarian fantasies that they arrested 2,700 grandmas, vicars, wheelchair users, and a chap who was so blind, he couldn’t read the sign he was holding. Tax payers footed the bill, of course—the same tax payers who can’t get a police officer to come out when they’ve been burgled because their local service “doesn’t have anyone available”.
Today's shocking news is that the ambulance-murderers have been released on bail

QT is in Clacton. Shall we get Farage on in his own constituency? What you can't find him? Well I suppose we'll just have scrape the bottom of the barrel and get Tom Skinner on and pretend he's not representing Reform.

33 minutes in after enumerating the quantities of assassinations Israel has perpetrated since its creation they refer to a scholar I'd never heard if, but I worked out who he was-- Yeshayahu_Leibowitz https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeshayahu_Leibowitz
From very early he foresaw the rot --
Following the Qibya massacre in 1953, Leibowitz became increasingly critical of Israeli government policy. He condemned the massacre calling it a moral and political abomination and warned that the use of military force without moral restraint would corrupt the foundations of Israeli society.[19] Leibowitz also argued that such acts betrayed Judaism's ethical legacy and undermined the moral integrity of the nascent state.[20]
In a 1968 essay titled "The Territories", Leibowitz warned of a bleak future:
Rule over the occupied territories would have social repercussions. After a few years there would be no Jewish workers or Jewish farmers. The Arabs would be the working people and the Jews the administrators, inspectors, officials, and police — mainly secret police. A state ruling a hostile population of 1.5 to 2 million foreigners would necessarily become a secret-police state, with all that this implies for education, free speech, and democratic institutions. The corruption characteristic of every colonial regime would also prevail in the state of Israel. The administration would have to suppress Arab insurgency on the one hand and acquire Arab Quislings on the other. There is also good reason to fear that the Israel Defense Force, which has been until now a people’s army, would, as a result, transform into an army of occupation, degenerate, and its commanders, who will have become military governors, resemble their colleagues in other nations. Out of concern for the Jewish people and its state we have no choice but to withdraw from the territories and their population of one and a half million Arabs.
And so it came to pass .

Question Time came tonight from Clacton. I know this is going to make me sound like a tremendous snob but rarely have I seen an audience so ably demonstrate the perils of a limited gene pool. I'm sure I saw extra limbs and facial features that weren't supposed to be there. It was like watching an 80's horror b-movie. They really want some immigrants in for a bit of genetic diversity before they end up going feral and eating each other.
For Labour we had Jake Richards. Not being previously familiar with Jake I was briefly concerned the BBC had fucked up and put a child in a suit on the panel by mistake, but no apparently ministers now look about 12 to me, like footballers, and the police. With his youthful exuberance Jake spent the evening doing his best to extol his governments virtues and vaunt their achievements while pretending to be a friend to everyone. Did it work? Not really, no. He had nothing to say to the woman who complained about the appalling lack of help her son had received for his mental health problems from the NHS and seemed shocked when a lady in a wheelchair pointed out she was losing over a grand due to cuts to the motability scheme (he said he'd have a word with afterwards, presumably to explain why he voted to screw her over). He did however get a ripple of laughter from the healthier looking members of the audience with an anti-Farage jibe towards the end which works in his favour as far as them helping him get out of town once it was over.
For the Tories we had Tom Tugendhat. Tom's great, if you ever have a problem go to Tom and with entirely unwarranted confidence and smugness Tom will tell you there's a simple solution to your problem no matter how complex it may be. Take for instance social media. This evening Tom smugly told us that Instagram, Twitter, Facebook are 'just algorithms', and by this he meant that each was a single algorithm that ran each of the platforms before leaning back and looking pleased with himself like he'd just explained physics to a dog. Which begs the question if these social media companies are so fucking simple to set up and run why have none of the brilliant British entrepreneurs he'd previously been eulogising set one up using BBC Basic. 10 PRINT "Tom Tugendhat is a twat." 20 GOTO 10.
For the Lib Dems we had Layla Moran. I do like Layla but she didn't have her best of night's this evening. Possibly because she was faced with an audience of mutants? Not your usual Lib-Dem fare. Though who is these days? Disaffected Tories who can't stand that dreadful man and upper middle class Labour voters quite rightly pissed off at Labour's abandonment of nature. They've painted themselves politically into a corner of the home counties in England and I can't believe the likes of Layla are happy with that. Once they ruled vast ranges from the Hebrides to Northumberland and the South beyond. Then came Nick Clegg.
For some barrel scraping reason we had Tom Skinner. I say barrel scraping, this is the first time I've seen the bloke. All I've heard previously is about him claiming he was kicked off Strictly (which I don't watch) because of a lefty conspiracy with the BBC or some such shit. He set himself up this evening as the voice of reason and us all getting along when it came to social media yet failed to disclose, even in Clacton, that he was a member of Reform. Which comes as no surprise, I'm currently reading that he was privately educated and that his whole Cockney barrow boy act is entirely fake. Which didn't stop the Clacton freaks slapping their flippers together and honking their delight as he spoke.
