It's weird how Starmer is happier aligning with the right than the left.

In Scotland it's been going on for years, they've been happy to work with anyone *but* the SNP and Greens. It'll be interesting to see what happens now with the rise of Reform North of the border. I suspect cavorting with Farage's goons may be a step too far but you never know.

Uurgh.

It's 24.7° in here with every window open. After visiting a pub to sit outside and cool down I'm now back sitting in my underwear*. It's apparently going to be up in the 30's on Monday so this may be the last you hear from me. I'm of Scottish blood with an Old Norse surname, I'm genetically made for the opposite of this shit. Knowing this was coming I ordered a solar powered fan to sit beside the window and use the power of the sun against it wafting me with a delightful cool breeze. Unfortunately I hadn't paid attention to the delivery date and it won't be arriving for over a week. Dickhead.

On a more positive note while sitting outside the pub I managed to use my knowledge of Andrew Wakefield and his false claims linking the MMR vaccine to autism to get talking to a group of lovely ladies for an hour, so at least the cunt proved useful for once.

*Ancient M&S boxer shorts my Mum got me for Christmas about 20 years ago. They're now basically holes held together by thin strips of frayed fabric. Hopefully that should put pay to any erotic thoughts anyone may have been having. :D

Cool, this is my new local councillor. My bus goes past his tattoo shop on the way to work.

That's right, somehow the BBC *isn't* transphobic enough for The Times. The need to misgender more people and platform more bigots.

UGH ,!

Been 33 here for a few days

And I was stuck in this place --

High ceilings, spacieux rooms

Fine bedlinen, napery,

Rather too ample meals.

WES would Not Approve !

At last, the sun's gone down. Nice try you bastard ball of plasma but I'm still alive. It peaked at 29.1° in here and is still at 28.3°. I stuck my old analogue thermometer on the windowsill outside at noon and I don't know how hot it was in the sun because it maxed out at 50°. Fortunately the solar powered fan I ordered arrived early and saved me! Well, not quite, the blade spins around and it creates a weak breeze but it only does any good if I place it within inches of my head. You get what you pay for.

There's some truly idiotic advice out there about copying the Mediterranean technique of closing your windows and curtains/blinds during the heat of the day. Absolute madness. This only works because, amongst other things, they have shutters which stop the sun getting through their windows so it's radiated outside. Without external shutters all that will happen is the sun will come through your windows, heat the curtains and their surroundings which will then radiate their energy into your house. Ye cannae change the laws of physics and have homes designed to keep heat in somehow magically keep heat out by doing exactly the same as you'd be doing in Winter.

Why don't we play the AK game and say he's only coming out with this shit to get elected but once he's in power he'll suddenly volte face and next thing we know we'll be living in a Socialist utopia?

Seriously though what would make you happier? A soulless centrist leading Labour being steered to the right by cunts, or a decent soft left chap who doesn't kick the poor in the face for shits and giggles?

The reality is Burnham has to win a tight contest in a seat Reform would walk if it wasn't for him. When was the last time you were in Wigan? My brother sometimes picks me up from the station if I'm going to visit and fuck me, the state of some of the creatures you see around the train and bus station. It's like Dr Moreau in reverse, like someone took humans and turned them into these shambling...things. The underclass according to the right who complain about them while seeking their votes and vowing to cut their benefits.

As I've previously said, Burnham's not perfect but he's a shit load better than Labour are currently stuck with.

Burnham only has to win a tight contest, because that's what Labour have given him. The MP didn't have to resign his seat. And I've yet to see Burnham actually offer anything different to the public, other than her has something of a personality.
