The Guardian reports today that police were told the night before. Hundreds of men had taken over Preston-next-Wingham, population 920, parking on junctions, in the primary school, in the butcher's car park. Someone overheard them in the local pub and passed it to counter-terrorism officers. Hope not Hate said they showed little or no interest. Roger Gale, the local MP, called 999 on Saturday morning and had 50 number plates photographed.
Kent Police called it spontaneous. No arrests.
