Quite. The quote wasn't meant to be taken as a defence of Yvette Cooper - quite the opposite, as I hope my post indicated.

I'll make allowances for Covid and also for being boring. But I can't make allowances for his not having said anything of great moment even if his delivery isn't flashy. In fact, I prefer non-flashy - "no style" is perfectly acceptable to me, but "no content" is a different bunch...

Labour probably isn't best served by going full tilt for "rejoin" but needs to keep subtly niggling away (whilst "Brexit" is still toward the forefront of people's minds) that leaving the EU is at the root of a lot of our problems.
