Good morning.

So how much does this Government care about Northern Ireland?

Not much by the look of it. What sort of message does that send them when they're getting the most incompetent Edu Secretary ever?

If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

Apparently he gets on well with the DUP, though. Or so we are told.

Nothing could be worse than Dowden surely?

Why, yes, something could...
Nadine Dorries may be the next culture secretary, the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg reports.

Dorries, currently a health minister, is a very successful fiction writer, which means she would be better qualified to represent the creative industries than many other people who have done that job. But she is also rightwing and pro-Brexit - two traits that might make her less welcome in the arts world.

Jess Brammar has got the BBC job she was tipped for - major defeat for the Staines sewer and his nexus.

Excellent - facing down No 10 & Robbie Gibb. And with Dowden gone from Culture maybe the Culture Warriors have realised they're not actually getting very far.

And no surprise to see the Twitter account British Alba being first off the block in here...

And the Vaccines Minister is now Sec of State for Education.

That might tell you something about the priorities right now I think...

I'd say that the BBC has had a pretty good day all told...one fewer stick with which to beat them.

No criminal inquiry into Martin Bashir’s Diana interview, say police

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/202 ... say-police
In a statement on Wednesday, the force said: “In March 2021, the Metropolitan police service determined it was not appropriate to begin a criminal investigation into allegations of unlawful activity in connection with a documentary broadcast in 1995.

“Following the publication of Lord Dyson’s report in May, specialist detectives assessed its contents and looked carefully at the law, once again obtaining independent legal advice from Treasury Counsel as well as consulting the Crown Prosecution Service.

“As a result, the MPS has not identified evidence of activity that constituted a criminal offence and will therefore be taking no further action.”

Together with the crushing defeat for Newsom's recall in California, its not been such a great day for Trumpism either side of the pond.

Not sure what counts as "young" but I expect many of us have been campaigning on climate change longer than "the young" have been alive.

I seem to have become very careless with vowels of late.
Apologies to those with pronounced grammatical sensitivity.

Oh, Nick Gibb has finally gone!

Great - hopefully an end to 'knowledge-rich curriculum', lies about the 2007 curriculum stripped of knowledge, or ignoring anything other than their favourites in the academy sector.

In fact, what with the Jess Barmmar appointment, the Gibb Brothers have had a really bad day...
