Morning refit

I was up much earlier and read yours from last night on most of the richer countries approving / prolonging international tax evasion by individuals and corporations ... others such as France abstained = wankers too.

From the Bylines article --

" The controversy is sensitive for Britain given that the UK and its overseas territories are responsible for approximately one-third of global tax avoidance through firms moving their profits offshore, according to campaigners Tax Justice UK. "

First LOLoftheDay went to ... Lord Greensill !

" Meanwhile, Cameron has secured paid positions as chair of the advisory board at hedge fund Caxton Associates and PayCargo, a Florida-based payment platform ** for the freight and cargo industries.

ACOBA has also approved his unpaid positions at the Oxford-Harrington Rare Disease Centre and US think tank the Council on Foreign Relations. "

** He should know a lot about 'payment systems' by now :-)

RFK Jnr getting approved (almost certainly) by a spineless Congress is almost as bad as what Musk is doing.

Badenock was pretty rubbish at PMQs again, it appears.

Doesn't she have even a few decent advisors, or does she just not listen to them?

Most likely a bit of both.

Shaun, who makes really good videos on YouTube, is currently fundraising for PCRF. He's on day 3 of streaming every day this week and has raised over £305,000 so far

Brilliant work there , and also shows how much money is out there totally independent of gubmints !

I surprised myself on the Tenth of December on finding I'd already given HALF of my pension for the month to my very special (and natch , quadruple - checked ) Ukrainian friends!
That was for anything from single killer FPV drones (€350 to Richard Woodruff a few months ago) to several €100 payments to the redoubtable Anastasiya Karespevova who starred while being deeply outnumbered on the shithead Piers Morgan Show .

Her silly old Pa went out onto their balcony in Kharkiv to watch the fireworks, and then a RU rocket landed in his much-loved garden .

He was shredded 11th July 2022 .

Since then Ana has been raising $$$'s towards whatever her local Kharkiv Army contacts needed -- Drones ; cars , MORE cars,,, and so on .

So when Gaza began I could see the need, but hardened my heart financially . As with Ukraine, people in GAZA need serious amounts, not bloody pennies .

Just back from seeing Mark Thomas at Leeds City Varieties. Lots of fuck the Tories and the rich but the biggest cheers and laughs of the night came when he ripped the piss out of Starmer and his pathetic Labour party. One of the longest serving left wing comedians in the country couldn't hold back his utter contempt, expressing perfectly the crushing disappointment most of us feel after having waited 14 years for this shit.

I mean yeah he made us laugh about it but it was bitter laughter and when my mate and I went for a couple of pints afterwards it wasn't like we'd just been to a comedy gig, we were hunched over our pints talking about what a fraud Starmer had always been. He's a Labour member and voted for him to be leader, taken in by exactly the same lies I fell for.

One lady at the back had to be expelled because she kept chuntering and shouting. I couldn't make out what she was saying and was wondering if she was the only Starmerite in the audience, but upon further investigation it turned out she was just really pissed.
