Can you imagine if Labour Together (and Ashworth in particular) just fucked all the way off? Can you imagine if Starmer decided that constantly pivoting right was the wrong thing to do?

To read later , but you won't get decency and probity from Starmer. That's the projected and cultivated image which He may perhaps even believe himself !

As for creativity courage and imagination , he's a wasteland .

Reading later because of a short night and early start w the lovely Nurse Karine stealing more blood. Time for an early siesta :-)

PS --I FEAR that I'm right on Starmer, but wd love to be wrong .

The Unconditional Zionism was always a giveaway .

Imagine if Kendall didn't feel the need to say this and give the media their headline on a plate.
I think that there are many more people who want to work.

I have no doubt, as there always have been, there are people who shouldn’t be on those benefits who are taking the mickey and that is not good enough - we have to end that.
Liz, in the real world everyone knows there will always be a few incorrigibles, you shouldn't be wasting time on them.

Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs) are abusive legal threats and lawsuits filed to silence critical speech. They are used by oligarchs, public officials, sexual abusers, warlords and opaque business leaders, to target journalists, whistleblowers, campaigners, academics, social media users and community groups. Anyone who speaks out is at risk.

No incredulity aroused by this --

Keir Starmer delivers Slapp in the face for free speech
Labour stood against the heavy handed use of legal intimidation while in opposition but have now walked back on that. The prime minister should act

" There has, however, been strong lobbying by sections of the legal profession against any attempt to ban this type of intimidation. And now Starmer seems to have backtracked. In a response this week to a House of Lords inquiry which called for action, the government said it would not be introducing anti-Slapp legislation. Instead it will ask a committee of judges and barristers — the very people who allowed Slapps to flourish — to decide on how court rules might be tweaked. "

Pathetic, but SO unsurprising

DEI looks like a nice little earner if you're strong on psychosocial bullshit :-)

As usual you have to check the original article , as opposed to jumping on the bandwagon , as here .......

Here is what he said --

" But he insisted the 'ideological hobby horses need to go', adding that 'what's been lost, I think, with some well-meaning but misguided approaches to equality, diversity, inclusion - the clue is in the name - it's equality, it should be applicable to everyone.

'And where we see health inequalities, whether they affect men and women, black people, white people, rich and poor, we've got to be take a much more evidence-based approach to those inequalities, and say if you're on the wrong end of the stats, we want to deal with that to make sure we get equality of outcome.
' "

I would still be wary of giving the Mail too much credence as a source. But we all know what Streeting is like by now.

Apologies for the lack of QT review yesterday evening. To be honest I was feeling a bit worse for wear. I might give it a quick run through on the iPlayer later and relay anything of interest.

As for that moron Kendall you'll notice she's made no mention of this.

https://committees.parliament.uk/commit ... ents-rise/
Disability benefits claimants receive an unacceptably poor level of service from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). In a report published today, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) warns that the DWP’s understanding of vulnerable customers’ experience is not good enough, with how it provides customer service overall also falling short.

The report finds that benefit claimants received over £4bn less than they were entitled to in 2023-24. This increases the risk of financial hardship for the people losing out. This figure of underpayments has risen from £3.5bn in 2022-23. Underpayment rates are highest for disability benefits, such as Personal Independent Payment (PIP) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).
It's heartbreaking watching a Labour government pandering to the right and peddling dangerous untruths when the realty is, according to a cross party parliamentary committee, that thousands of sick and disabled people are being denied the benefits they're entitled to because the DWP can't be arsed to answer the phone. How about being decent and good and addressing that rather than demonising vulnerable people and making them sick with worry.

This is delightful, a far right shitposter beloved of Musk, Jenrick and Reform has turned out to be an Indian scammer under house arrest in Dubai.

Not only that but he conned a bunch of his painfully gullible followers out of thousands by getting the idiots to buy some shitty bitcoin nonsense he promoted before pulling the rug on it and making off with their cash.

I do hope nobody else was unfortunate enough to waste a perfectly good Friday evening sitting through that dreadful Man Utd v Leicester match. Ugh.

Thank god the rugby is back tomorrow. Allez les Bleus!

Setting aside Birbalsingh's ridiculous histrionics, those academy 'freedoms' involve reducing the freedom of teachers to teach their subjects, effectively forcing them to teach by rote. After hearing multiple tales of woe from colleagues who've ended up in academies my brother has refused to teach in one even after being offered better money (they're desperate for science teachers).

If it's Marxist to attempt to get kids to understand and appreciate what they're learning rather than simply have them robotically repeat answers until they're burned into their brains (with so little context to make those answers meaningless outside of passing an exam) then so be it.

I'm not one for praising much about what this government are doing but if Bridget Phillipson is genuinely taking on these joyless results factories then I'm all for it.

Quite the contrary. If you're going to pull off a crypto scam it makes complete sense to target the largest most gullible audience available, which on Twitter is now the far right, this is the third time I've seen this happen but never with such a high profile account.

The Reform lot are fuming, not only has this genius made off with between 50 and 100k of their money (estimates vary) but he's also 'damaged the cause' according to their more vocal lieutenants who seem more bothered about that than the fact he's successfully ripped off their own followers.

In now sadly deleted tweets he was brazenly arguing with them last night saying if they'd all got in on the crypto scam in the first place they'd have made loads of money. Which is the first truth he ever told them.
