Right at the end --
" These are men who watch Piers Morgan for the education "

The only time I've ever watched chunks of PM is when Anastasiya was on, which actually was educational for many people !

Seriously, aren't there some rich Muslim benefactors who could take care of this?

And I don't think that is the reason either, as you say its not a lot of money. Maybe more its being attacked by some pro-Israel elements as suspect.

Um, why should Muslims have to rely on the protection of private individuals and not the State?

Just seen a Farage article in the DT saying that the party acted responsibly with regard to Lowe.

And then I wondered, given Lowe having said that the KC had said to him that no allegations had any substance...would the best outcome be that Lowe is right, and Farage & Anderson have to back down?

Lots of Reform members posting that they should shut up about this...but not everyone is taking any notice.

You may have noticed Tories sounding off in the past week about this supposed "two tier justice" thing.

Well, it only turns out that they signed off on all this when they were still in power.

Who would ever have guessed etc etc.

7mins30 to 9mins30 on 'language' In Russian but not only in Russia, variations on this -- " If you beat your wife it shows you love her "

10 mins Jonathan " In some ways the abuser has to feel like a victim themselves" ...
Trump and his ilk need an army of abusers " ...

Marci '' ' I know other Yale faculty members who knew him" . So ... he had a difficult childhood and unlike others who came to terms with it ... on that day with Zelensky JDV displayed childish aggression, desire to humiliate, etcetc !

Textbook case of abused becoming abuser

Not the slightest hint of pushback from Labour after Friday's leak to ITV about disability benefit cuts and reading 'soft right' commentators like Katy Balls and Isabel Hardman today they clearly see it as a done deal. Reeves would have to have provided her plans to the OBR last week to give them time to analyse them before the budget so the timing of the leak makes sense. I think it's safe to say now that we know what's coming.

On a more cheerful note it's a beautiful warm Spring day with lots of happy chirping birds and blossom and crocuses aplenty. :)

Putin's People ICYMI ! --

" The court heard how two leading members of the ring, Roussev and Marsalek, had discussed using ricin or the nerve agent VX to poison Dobrokhotov, who fled Russia in 2021 and moved to the UK in January 2023.

In one message, Marsalek dismissed an idea, proposed by Roussev, that Dobrokhotov could have an “accident” in the shower, saying: “I fear that’s not dramatic enough … we need something of symbolic value.

“Maybe burn him alive on the street, spray him with some super-strong acid, VX, like the North Koreans, or the ricin,” Marsalek said. “Shower accident won’t discourage others. It must create a dramatic story.”

United should have won that game comfortably in the second half despite continuing to be mostly terrible. God only knows what Arsenal thought they were playing at dicking about pointlessly with the ball for most of the match offering little threat to a defence which included an inexperienced teenager and a guy starting his first game of the season. Utterly baffling.

The absolute confidence of complete morons is something really to behold. The unwillingness of these r-w muppets to (a) engage with the actual debate point and (b) respond to the arguments that Sam Seder makes is both baffling and hilarious. The complete disconnect to actual reality (one guy thinks that gov agencies pay tax 🤷‍♂️) is amazing. If you've got some time to spare, it's worth a skip through.
