Afternoon here , and at midday sunlight came through the window , warming my back !

This is a Canadian YT new to me, excellent points on how hypocrisy in supposedly liberal governments undermines democracy ...

Gaza being the prime example in USUK France Germany et al .

I had to switch off last night's News At Ten, too much rabbiting on about how unsafe British jews now are after the 7th October , with No Mention of the excesses of the IDF and West Bank 'settlers' since then.

BBC inconsistency is evident when for balance you also had WATO's Sarah Montague recently reporting for three days from the West Bank and even filming harassment of the Palestinians. Wes Streeting's private admission of the reality of the situation is another example . Everybody knows it is happening but officially, at the top of government they continue to weasel !

Rubio Calls For The End Of A Tolerant Democratic Europe …
Phillips P. OBrien

Just over an hour ago, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called for the end of a tolerant, democratic Europe and its break-up into a disparate group of smaller, Trumpist states, and the Europeans in the room gave him a standing ovation.

The chair of the event, Wolfgang Ischinger even thanked Rubio for his wonderful “reassurance”. So, it seems that threats to invade Greenland do not matter, the unilateral, imposition of uneven tariffs on Europe never happened. Indeed, even the abandonment of Ukraine and the cozying up to Vladimir Putin was not really dividing the US and Europe.

O'Brien himself and the commenters would have preferred a stony silence , but there you go ! For the mom Ukraine still needs what US arms are actually arriving so giving the US régime the finger is not yet on :-)

Rain on the snow at daughter's in the more continental climate at Alençon, and here near the sea a boring 2° !

Some evil pleasure in hearing Labour Together cited on the Radio4 News at UK 7.05h this morning

and of course it's top of the online page at the Sunday Times :-)

Labour activists paid for smear campaign against journalists
Labour Together, the group that helped make Keir Starmer leader, hired lobbyists who falsely suggested reporters were linked to Russia

The original Nov23 article on those concealed £740,000 and Labour Together has this snippet --

"" After working as a receptionist at party headquarters, by 2001 he had moved to its attack and rebuttal unit in Millbank, Westminster. His tasks included inputting data into Peter Mandelson’s “Excalibur”, a computer that could instantly search thousands of quotes and facts and help provide instant responses to Tory attacks. He soon pivoted into campaigns, working with two of the MPs who later created Labour Together. "" https://archive.ph/VOW2A

Smart operation Mandy !

The secretive guru who plotted Keir Starmer’s path to power with undeclared cash
Morgan McSweeney, 46, spent much of Jeremy Corbyn’s reign researching how moderates might regain control of Labour and turn it into a party of government — but failed to declare donations that paid for it

Definitely grated to me to read the New Hard Right of Labour being described as 'moderates' !

So it turns out I, along with every other benefit claimant is screwed by Labour's renters reform legislation.

In the past a way to get by landlord's queasiness about renting to benefit claimants was to pay a few months in advance giving everyone a buffer between any DWP problems and paying the rent. Seemed sensible.

Not now.

Now, as I am finding out, you have to pass an affordability check. Which asks if you're income is above 30x the monthly rent for the year (impossible for most benefit claimants).

And paying in advance is now illegal.

Which puts me and every other benefit claimant at a massive disadvantage.

Dickheads.
