Before one gets on to the Healey Resignation etcetc, who is this Jonathan Hall geezer ?
Basu said: “The way we talk about immigration is fuelling violence on the streets, and is fuelled by social media. Black and brown people are walking around terrified. What the extremists want is a white Britain.”

In contrast, Jonathan Hall, the senior lawyer who is the independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, said national security was potentially under threat from the arrival of people from countries where they might have experienced or even participated in violence, and that people had a right to be worried.

“It’s absolutely legitimate to talk about immigration in the context of national security,” Hall told the BBC.

Kemi's deep knowledge of UK history --
" But when Shipman asked if she would rule out an arrangement with Reform UK after an election, Badenoch replied:

"This country cannot have another leftwing government. This is the most leftwing parliament we have ever had."

A hideous number of years ago I was seeing a young lady from the local private school (yeah I know class traitor and all that). Her Dad was a major in the army in charge of procurement contracts. He was a genuine lunatic, we came in one day to find him loading the dishwasher by throwing crockery into it from the other side of the kitchen wearing nothing but his y-fronts while laughing hysterically. During moments of lucidity he would talk of having signed contracts worth millions for things the army didn't need. The idea being that if the budget wasn't spent in full it would be reduced at the next spending review so he literally had orders to buy crap nobody needed. As far as I could tell his job (mercifully) didn't involve buying weaponry, it was uniforms and equipment.

That was 1989, but I also have an old schoolfriend who I'm back in touch with after he turned up at my Mum's wake who spent 30 years working for BAE Systems and some of what he's told me about financial impropriety when it comes to their contracts with the MOD is shocking.

So when it comes to John Healey's resignation I'm taking it with a pinch of salt. He must know how much of the MOD's budget is dodgy in one way or another, even Cummings admitted as much today, with worthless old contracts still worth millions kept secret.

If the MOD wants money at the expense of the rest of us then maybe they should open up their books and let us have a good look at them before more is stripped from those who can least afford to lose it.
