Remember when Morgan McSweeney really fucked it up and was booted out of Starmer's inner circle? Remember when he lost his job partly for pushing for a close friend of the biggest nonce, to be the UK ambassador to the US?
No, me neither.
No, me neither.

I read the article, no idea what Maugham is on about --
That is good, but where does he now stand on Gaza and Ukraine ?In a statement to the Guardian, Streeting said: “We’re long past the time for threats. We have to act. Incitement to violence is a crime in the offline world so it must be prosecuted as a crime in the online world.
“If platforms are knowingly promoting this dangerous content, bosses should face criminal action and the companies should be made to pay the costs of cleaning up and rebuilding Belfast, along with the thugs on the ground.
“We’ve been far too timid in the face of broligarchs attempting to reshape our society and inspire hatred – we should be standing up to the forces of darkness online and offline, and we still can.”

I knew about their protest but hadn't known before that it resulted in the cancellation of half Hegseth's official events on the Day !
"" Preparations had long been under way to transform the village of about 2,000 people into the international host of the ceremony; the flagpoles had been carefully erected, the podium was in place and more than 400 high-ranking officials from across the globe were set to arrive in the village. ""

I'd love to say staying up until 4 o'clock in the morning watching Scotland scrape a 1-0 win against Haiti in a match that could barely be described as football was fun, but I'd be lying, it was excruciating. And then my stupid brain woke me up just after 9 for no good reason. Could be worse though, my fellow Scotland supporting friend had to get up at 8 for work. Still, at least we won.
Hope you're all enjoying the World Cup, and if you aren't at least this time half the games are on in the middle of the night so you can avoid them. I did have to laugh during the Scotland game when the commentators were mocking the American producers for focusing the cameras on celebrities in the crowd during breaks in play as if we in this country are above such things...erm Wimbledon?
Do any of us think Starmer would have done what the Mexican president did in giving away her (preposterously expensive) ticket to a young fan if the UK were hosting? I think we all know the answer to that one.
