Sold a pup I reckon, it would be too good.
Can't help hoping though, can we? Farage is really an event / grand spectacle maker, isn't he. A political illusionist.

I wondered elsewhere whether it's such a good idea to keep associating yourself with the extremely rich - not that great when you're presenting yourself as a party for ordinary people.

No we can't, and that is the danger Farage faces, it could get to the point he raises expectations only for to fall flat on his face, hope it happens mind...

Bit of an oddity at the Telegraph, a "word cloud" analysis of the main speeches from Conference season (so they've completely written off the Lib Dems obviously). Not sure how much value this sort of analysis has, but the "Welfare" clouds are quite interesting, seeing the very different emphases of the two parties.

One year, not two.

FT interview December 2013:
Mr Balls has committed Labour to matching coalition spending plans in 2015-16, election year, and offered to have its programme costed by the independent Office for Budget Responsibility.

And the one year is only because by the time you get into office, you're in that year already by a couple of months. The last thing you want to do is a major spending review lasting months while you're in that year.

pk1, I think there may have been more announcements this year, though couldn't find them.

I didn't think Osborne had any intention of keeping to these plans, any more than he has to his earlier ones. I thought Balls had fallen into a trap by accepting them at all. But seems like that's panicked Osborne and he's had to head off even more into fantasy.

I love the imagery though, as it has already been pointed out, a week after Farage promised to ''park his tanks on Labour's front lawn'' he strolls out of a rather handsome country pile, champagne on offer, it wouldn't have looked out of place on the cover of Country Living.

Eddie Mair follow up to her faltering response:

and after yet another limp deflection from her:
'It isn't because he now consider it just 'green crap'?

Nicky Morgan: 'No'. In the most clipped, tight voice you can possible imagine. Interview ends.

Upper band threshold £41,900; Cameron raises it to £50,000. That means anyone earning over £50,000 pays 20% instead of 40% on tax over that 8 grand range, and has basically got a 4 grand pay rise.

Join UKIP and let Ed Miliband in and you lowly backbenchers won't get that lovely bung, will you?
They haven't quite got the hang of being 'a Trade Union', have they. Where's the parity for the workers? Surely, as the Party of Fairness (TM) they should be raising the Income Tax entry point by £8,000, too. No tax on the first £18,500 of earnings by 2020. Did I miss that bit? No, didn't think so...
On Twitter I've just asked some snotty Tory journalist on the Times, whether Dave has invented a new class of people. called 'hard working families.' Not sure where this new class fits on the social scale yet although, slavering over the promise of tax cuts for these families, it has to be somewhere between middle and upper middle class.
He's also saying this new class of' hard working families', read bedtime stories to their kids.
