Which has got precisely what to do with the EU?Cornwall 'not poor enough' for £1bn of EU funding
Cornwall may not have been poor enough to justify receiving £1bn of European Union funding, it has emerged.
In recent years the county has several times been listed at the bottom of the poverty table in England and Wales.
But revised GDP figures suggest Tees Valley and Durham, South Yorkshire, and West Wales and the Valleys are now all more deserving of EU money.
Experts say that could make it harder for Cornwall to get funding post-Brexit. (BBC News website - my emphasis)

"The advisory charity surveyed 800 people who sought help with universal credit in pilot areas, finding 39% were waiting more than six weeks to receive their first payment and more than half (57%) were having to borrow money to get by during that time.
The report also detailed problems with the online application system and long waits to get help over the phone. It said nearly a third (30%) of those surveyed said they had to make more than 10 calls to the universal credit helpline during their application process, often having to wait over 30 minutes to get through. Our poll has Labour ahead by 8%. Last time they were that far in front? March 14. Last time Labour were above 45% in a yougov poll-never.

Re: Thursday 6th July 2017
Question Time is becoming a joke.
I remember not so long ago that if you were a shouty arsehole then Dimbleby would ask you to be quiet and say something along the lines of "if you shout we won't come to you for your comment". But as of the last couple of years, basically since the Brexit referendum, it would appear being a shouty arsehole (of whichever political persuasion) means you'll get yourself heard before anybody else. It's become like a politics Jeremy Kyle. I miss civilised debate. The entire world doesn't have to be like a newspaper comments section.

Indeed Hindle but at least in the past Dimbleby acted as a moderator, now he's egging the shouters on.
Someone shouting in an audience is essentially a troll yet it would appear it is now de rigueur on the BBC to encourage such behaviour.
I feel an angry email coming on. Evidently if I compose it entirely in bold caps the good people at the Beeb will read it straight away and give it undue attention.

That would first require me to have a some kind of political job at the BBC.
Which would mean an instant fail at my upcoming work capability assessment.
"Are you able to breathe?"
"Umm...sometimes"
"Only we saw you breathing on Newsnight while you were waving a glass of red wine about while shouting wanker at a minor Tory minister."

We never had the pleasure of going through a WCA,paper only, which was a surreal.exercise in ignoring all the physical limitations/factors and not being able to carry tasks out just outlined, and answering the same questions, even though impossible imagining they are not,and mental/psychological factors as to limitations/factors on tasks you've just outlined aren't possible. The trouble is,as with PIP these are written/constructed by majorative input from professionals who don't see/appreciate the daily lived reality, but a small aspect temporarilly from the outside.

The paper form you have to fill in is pointless. Page after page of pointless guff.
All that matters is a nurse who's happy to take the devil's shilling interviewing you for 20 minutes then stopping your benefits because she get's a miserably small bonus for doing so.
What a wonderful fucking world.

The Government must address the chaos engulfing Universal Credit - Abrahams
Debbie Abrahams MP, Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, commenting on the Citizen’s Advice Bureau report on Universal Credit said:
“The Government must address the chaos engulfing Universal Credit. It must pause the programme to tackle the serious design flaws in UC at the same time as addressing its chaotic mismanagement.”
“The Government’s cuts to Universal Credit means that on top of the design and delivery issues, it fails to make work pay, compounding people’s ability to make ends meet. In spite of this Government’s warm words about making Britain fairer, their tax and spending choices have done the opposite.”
“Labour will invest to reform Universal Credit, under our plans to create a social security system that, like the NHS, is there for us all in our time of need.”
