Evening folks,
I see Chi Onwura continues to be good. She’s been putting the boot into Weinstein specifically and workplace harassment generally. As one of my ex-pupils, I claim some of the credit (same goes for Matt Baker, Ian Bogie, Neil Fingleton and <gulp> Cheryl Tweedie). Oh, and the Wilson sisters.

Yes, she has often been impressive. Also from an engineering background which isn't that usual in the HoC.55DegreesNorth wrote:Evening folks,

True. But as a black, female Northern engineer, she’s as rare as rocking horse shite.AnatolyKasparov wrote:Yes, she has often been impressive. Also from an engineering background which isn't that usual in the HoC.55DegreesNorth wrote:Evening folks,

Re: Tuesday 17th October 2017
"When Kids Company closed, the charity could only find records relating to 1,692 London clients - both adults and children. Officials in Bristol were given details of a further 175 clients. A lot of the London records were uselessly incomplete or duplicates. And while there were people with severe needs in that group, they were known to the local authorities."
"The miracle of Kids Company is how a charity turning over £20m a year could disappear without a trace. Central government spent £47m on Kids Company. As time has ticked on, that investment has looked worse and worse."

Wow,to my shame.I did not know this,or at least fully. The guy that was second at the '68 Olympics behind Tommie Smith.Peter Norman
"After the salute, Norman's career suffered greatly. A 2012 CNN profile noted that "he returned home to Australia a pariah, suffering unofficial sanction and ridicule
He never ran in the Olympics again."He was not selected for the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 despite turning in adequate times, and was not welcomed even three decades later at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.Carlos later noted that "If we [Carlos and Smith] were getting beat up, Peter was facing an entire country and suffering alone."
In 1985, Norman contracted gangrene after tearing his Achilles tendon during a charity race, which nearly led to his leg being amputated. Depression, heavy drinking and pain killer addiction followed"
Died in 2006 Pall bearers Smith & Carlos
Still holds the Men's Australian Record for 200m.
