'Argh I'm burning' - Margaret Thatcher.
Cheers Refit.
I'll never forget that evening, well at least the start of it. My mate and I went to Tesco to buy celebratory champagne and there was a 2 for 1 offer on some mid price stuff so we got 4 bottles and ended up absolutely pissed.
And really if you think about it that was all down to Maggie, if her and Reagan hadn't bested the evil forces of communism then my mate and I would have been trudging gloomily to some godforsaken state run shop to join the queue for turnip vodka.

Re: Tuesday 8th April 2025
I couldn't help but laugh today when Starmer was asked about the impact of the disability benefit cuts. He managed to confuse the OBR with the DWP (as you do) then agreed policy should be evidence based before going on to say it was fine for MPs to vote on the cuts before they saw the evidence of their impact.
What a tit.
I mean it's fine if you want to have an ideologically neutral technocratic managerial approach to government, as Starmerism seems to be trying to sell itself as. But at the very least that requires competence and logical consistency, almost like a writer creating their own world and narrative that makes sense from all angles. Instead we keep getting garbage cobbled together in a panic, invariably to suit a specific audience, then a load of expository bullshit trying to justify it. Imagine trying to read that.
"As Lord Keir rode his dragon Reeves over the jagged mountains towards the plains of Dis he recalled how the people of Dis had been loyal to him in his war against Lord Sunak. Urging Reeves on they descended into the plain as he whispered to his dragon 'hard choices must be made'. Without hesitation Reeves breathed her fire incinerating village after village until all Dis was ash. Lord Keir looked upon their works unmoved and said, 'The people of Dis were 384% more likely to be diseased, 265% more likely to be slovenly, and 196% more likely to support those heretic Green lords with their fancy electric dragons. Fuck them."
To be honest I prefer that Keir.
