The government is letting complete amateurs experiment on a whole generation of children. There will be permanent consequences from the unregulated use of social isolation as a punishment. Talk of putting mental health on a par with physical health is complete bollocks when government policies are a main driver for declines in mental health.

Good morfternoon.
Are we to see a self-preservation coming-together(ish) of the Conservatives against a common enemy (ie Jeremy Corbyn)?

Corbyn's team are well aware of that, rest assured. Though the fact remains May is not making this "offer" from a position of strength, and that should be exploitable.

There have been at least 5 serious threats made to Jeremy Corbyn’s life in recent weeks. One culprit asked for details as to where Jeremy lived. We need to give politicians privacy at their family homes. Publicising where they live is placing them in jeopardy. It only takes one.

The paradox is, however, that a more "moderate"/conventional Labour leader might not have reduced the Tories to this state in the first place?

The Labour Party as a whole needs to defend itself more stridently against charges of anti-Semitism both inside and outside the house.
For example, pointing out that unlike itself, the Conservative party has yet to adopt the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Or pointing out how the incidence on anti-Semitism in the Labour Party is at a lower rate that the population as a whole. This fact is being ignored and in my opinion is quite powerful.
Also, take legal action (or threaten to) when accusations are made outside the house. They have the funding to hire the best legal team available.
Otherwise, this smear will continue to gain traction. It's really pissing me off now.

Re: Wednesday 3rd April 2019
And the other standout question came from the SNP’s Stewart Hosie. He asked May:
After two years of Brexit deadlock, intransigence and a seven-hour cabinet meeting, the best the prime minister can do is invite the leader of the British Labour party to become the co-owner of her Brexit failure. Let me ask her, had she been the leader of the opposition, and invited into a trap like this, would she have been foolish enough to accept?
Hosie did not get a proper answer, but many Labour MPs were probably thinking his analysis was spot on. (Politics Live, Guardian)

NEW - Jeremy Corbyn will take Keir Starmer, Nick Brown and Rebecca Long-Bailey with him to meet the PM later. “A substantial number of our demands relate to her brief,” a spokesman says. She’s also *not* a big referendum fan.

The trap: Any “concessions” are temporary & not legally binding. They will be attached to the political declaration. It will be immediately torn up by the incoming Tory leader. The only possible response from Labour: a public vote on what emerges as the price of our support.

Another thing that apparently happened today at PMQs - the ever lovely Christopher Chope asked May to list the "many benefits" of a no deal Brexit.
As is not untypical admittedly, she answered a different question entirely

Heaton-Harris is an enthusiastic Brexiter...
As a Brexit minister he was responsible for no-deal planning. He also tells May that her determination to avoid no-deal “obviously makes my job in government irrelevant”.

At least one tied vote in the Commons with Bercow having casting vote(s).
Outcome is no further indicative votes but the Cooper bill will be debated.
The talks seem to have gone smoothly and they've agreed a work programme. All sounds great so mundane!

Jeremy Corbyn must believe that a second Referendum would result in a "Remain" outcome - otherwise why would he be reluctant to go for one?One of the biggest questions of the evening is whether Jeremy Corbyn will provoke a fallout with his frontbench over the second referendum issue.
My colleague Heather Stewart has written an excellent piece on this. She writes:
Thornberry’s intervention underlines the balancing act facing Corbyn, who was already under intense pressure to raise the issue of a referendum in talks with the prime minister.

If the deal is "harder" then he will feel he needs to call for a Referendum. In that case he would probably be quite happy if Remain won.
