Major gains for Brexit, Libs, Greens and Nats while the ruling Labour Party suffer huge losses.

Good morfternoon.
I'm half-expecting Theresa May to come to the podium and say something completely different to what everyone thought had been agreed.
Oh, and here she is.

I've just received an e-mail from Labour, part of which is reproduced below -
"Theresa May has just announced her resignation as Prime Minister.
Her time has finally run out. A General Election could happen any moment now. The Tories have their billionaire donors to help them cling on to power, but we have you." (my bold)
We're doomed, then.

'GE could happen at any moment' is no more than the theoretical possibility it's been for the last 2 years. IMO.PorFavor wrote:I've just received an e-mail from Labour, part of which is reproduced below -

Tories pool of billionaire donors should be shrinking a bit, you'd think.

representation is invariably provided for staff and institutions but legal aid funding is often denied to families. In this case, the mother had been given exceptional case funding by the Legal Aid Agency but told she still had to cover 25% of the fees.

Anyway, that's as it is. We have to be honest about her record. There will now be a lot of attempts to try to provide a sympathetic assessment of her time in office, because it goes against the grain. They're wrong. She was truly terrible.

For fuck sake. She cried because she’s no longer Prime Minister. Where were her tears for Grenfell? For the Windrush deportations? For members of the LGBT+ community that she deported to their deaths? For the homeless? For the queues at food banks? For those killed by austerity?

Almost all Tory MPs don't want to vote on having a second referendum? Is this correct? Tory MPs don't want to hold a second referendum?...May stunned colleagues in the week of the election by promising to introduce “a requirement to vote on whether to hold a second referendum” so vehemently opposed by almost all her own party. It prompted yet another cabinet resignation, that of Andrea Leadsom....

Re: Friday 24th May 2019
I'm concerned about that because they'll be no second referendum without a majority of MPs voting to have one.

Not all Tory MPs are opposed to another referendum, but most are and many of them are very opposed indeed.
It could yet happen, but only when there is literally no other alternative.

Well, if you can't deliver good results for your supporters in your own constituency (when you are Prime Minister of the whole country), it would be very surprising.

Ah, now I'm sure there's a policy for that...nope, can't quite remember...help me out somebody...According to the Evening Chronicle he was born in Edinburgh and lives between London and France, frequently working overseas.
But he says he’s “visited the region many times over the years and feels Scots and people from the North East have a lot in common.”
Last year he wrote a piece in The Scotsman discussing the benefits of friction-free trading.

I would have used a different word ending in "uck".
She was a massive failure even by her own limited terms.
She's not the worst Prime Minister in my lifetime (hello Mr Shed) but she's certainly the least human.
Her list of "successes" in her resignation speech is totally overwhelmed by her list of failures, ignorance, stupidity, misplaced loyalty, ah what's the point. I'm glad she's no longer "leading". Good riddance.
