Morning!
Great news engineering work between Huddersfield and Leeds has overrun.
Northern Powerhouse in action again....
At least we can admire the brand new shiny Northern trains as they sit idly in the station

More train news.
Virgin will no longer run the West Coast franchise.
Or indeed any UK trains any more!

Unsurprisingly three quarters of home owners refusing the choice of loan in lieu of removal of basic State reciprocity ;annoyingly it doesn't specify whether fully fit and lazy arse or terminally ill saving the Country a fortune -all now treated the same.It was already time limited for jobseekers.

First Group has been under huge pressure from activist shareholders in the US to split up and sell off its UK bus and rail businesses so this new tie up with Trenitalia is a bit of a surprise.

There is nothing Christian or indeed moral about the same treatment I would say fascistic and false representation in the non differing treatment.

You can't be vulnerable if you are invisible or dead ,such unintended obvious consequences

BTW Sky'sGoneOut posted a comment last night suggesting they won't be posting anymore. I'm not one to try to persuade people to keep posting as there are often better things we could do with our time, but it's always a shame to lose a poster and it would be nice to see at least the occasional visit rather than have people feel it has to be all or nothing.

He told me Johnson did some kind of performance today. I've not looked into it.
Frightful.Boris Johnson has hit out at what he described as a “terrible collaboration” between MPs and the EU trying to block Brexit, as he refused to rule out shutting down parliament and holding a general election after leaving on 31 October.

His refusing to rule such things out is actually quite helpful, as it will make his opponents try all the harder to find ways to prevent them.

Re: Wednesday 14th August 2019
I'm glad there's cross-party condemnation of his accusations against UK MPs and EU representatives. Johnson's words and behaviour are scary.Speaking live on Facebook, where [Boris Johnson] answered pre-selected questions from the public in an event billed as a “people’s prime minister’s questions”, Johnson argued that efforts to block no deal would increase its likelihood, as it would make the EU less keen to offer new concessions.

I think Johnson's declaration here absolutely terrifying.Sam in Wales asks about an election.
Johnson says people are sick of elections.

McCluskey, quoted in the guardian
And what fucking labour market regulations? The EU rules that say that 'free movement of labour' means that, and not free movement of people, and that if we could be bothered to look at the actual rules and regulations we could see that we can close the door to people after three months if they're not self-supporting. And we'd also see how few people that applied to, although that would get in the way of being angry at foreigners. Idiot.
Fucking idiot. If there is an election before we've left, and Labour go into it saying 'we're simply leaving on our deal' I think they'll come nowhere.“I believe that if we haven’t left by 31 October that we should respect the 2016 referendum, which means leaving Europe but on a deal that the 48% would be happy with,” McCluskey told the BBC. “That is access to a frictionless market and a customs union protecting jobs and investment. And the 52% would be happy because of the policies that Labour have to invest in their communities and to deal with the abuses of migrant labour coming into our country with labour market regulations.”

I think I probably say something along the lines of 'I try not to be a conspiracy theoriest' just too often for it to be true, but whilst I try not to be a conspiracy theorist, if you think back to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's comments on a Labour government...
... a lot of what is going on BTL in places like the guardian, with a fierce determination that it's not the Conservative Party or the Leave campaign to blame for where we are, it's Corbyn and the Labour Party who are responsible, is exactly, exactly the kind of talk I would be generating if I'd been tasked by my important government boss to 'push back' against the possibility of a labour government.
The questioner said: “Would you be willing to work with us to take on actions if life becomes very difficult for Jews in the UK?” In response, Pompeo appeared to suggest that he would seek to intervene in the debate before Corbyn had a chance to become prime minister.“It could be that Mr Corbyn manages to run the gauntlet and get elected,” he said on the recording. “It’s possible. You should know, we won’t wait for him to do those things to begin to push back. We will do our level best. It’s too risky and too important and too hard once it’s already happened.”
