As for the forthcoming election we're fucked.
The Tories have quite succesfully hoovered up almost the entire leave vote.
Game over.

I mean I'd love to think I was wrong and a shock like 2017 could happen again but where is the evidence?
Tell me, I'm desperate to listen.

OK, here's some:Sky'sGoneOut wrote:I mean I'd love to think I was wrong and a shock like 2017 could happen again but where is the evidence?

1) polls could be (and very possibly *are*) understating young turnout/newly registered voters.
2) they could also be weighting for the 2016 referendum wrongly (its getting harder to do over three years on)
3) Labour's ground game, which easily outstrips the other parties.
Even if this is all true, Tories are still very likely to be the biggest party (I'm not *that* recklessly optimistic)
But all is not yet lost

So we find ourselves facing an election defeat. I couldn't give a shit about the Labour party, in fact I find myself feeling alien in England.
I've saved up some money for such times as these and plan on going North.
You're all welcome to follow.

Its not a real "defeat" if the Tories can't actually govern.
(which, if the combined Con plus DUP score fell much below 326, would very likely be the case)

Even the most benign psephology predicts dire circumstances.
But then again I'm wrong all the fucking time.
