Re: Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd April 2023
Frog - 'promoted' tweets keep appearing in reply threads I read.
Re: Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd April 2023
Had to look up what they are !
.Promoted Tweets (aka Sponsored Tweets), are standard Tweets, except they're paid for by advertisers attempting to increase their Twitter reach and/or engagement. Promoted Tweets are labeled as such, but otherwise, they can be liked, commented on, and retweeted
Looks like I have some immunity, my reading habits/people I follow don't excite promoted stuff ?

Hello.
Under no circumstances can Sky be permitted to stop his QT reviews - these are about the only link to reality I can stomach. Indeed they are the only thing (other than the odd bit of disco) that bring on the dancing clanger.

Even if true, the idea it could lose Labour the election on its own is risible - even I can see that.

Someone was saying that we should trust Starmer/Labour on trans issues?

I was 52 today. Which I celebrated by crashing someone else's birthday party at a local nursery while helping myself to their alcohol, before embarking on a pub crawl which involved a barmaid not being able to understand a single word my Geordie mate said and me throwing nearly a whole pizza in the bin because it tasted of nothing. £9.50 it cost me.

And thanks for being nice about my QT review. I'm trying to cut down my drinking but keep finding every reason I have for doing it turns out to be completely necessarry.

To be honest I'm amazed I'm still alive.
So being 52 is an achievement.

If you mean me, then I stand by what I said. The comments by Starmer are mostly vibes based positioning which don't actually commit him to an awful lot.
And again, the real problem here is an almost uniformly trans-hostile media.

Ah, the true 'centrist' position - pandering to the right and kicking the left.

Might it not have been a good thing for Corbyn to have had some sort of strategy to deal with an overwhelmingly hostile media?
Just think about it for a minute.

He's really living rent free in your head, isn't he? When did I mention Corbyn in any of this? I simply reiterated the point that Starmer is a duplicitous dick, who no-one should trust, if they're in a minority.AnatolyKasparov wrote: ↑Sun 02 Apr, 2023 11:40 am Might it not have been a good thing for Corbyn to have had some sort of strategy to deal with an overwhelmingly hostile media?

Good afternoon.
Out all day yesterday at an event where I gave a talk which seemed to be well-received.
A former Home Office official writes...Braverman is just a front for the EFG isn't she?

If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

Re: Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd April 2023
He's "living rent free" in my head (and that of several others) because we still have to live with the consequences of his actions today.
I defended him when he was leader (and was quite right to do so) and I don't even think he is a particularly bad person.
But the failure of his continuing backers to take any responsibility for what happened is pitiful. There's a reason why they are so often called "cultists".

Re: Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd April 2023
But AK, your argument here is 'it's okay for Starmer to be a bigot, because Corbyn'. Do you not see how unhinged that is?
Re: Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd April 2023
This is what Starmer is pandering to
Re: Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd April 2023
It's okay though, he's got GBNews on his side.
Re: Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd April 2023
RoT - it's worse than that

I'm sure Starmer doesn't mind trans people personally, I keep telling you what the real problem is and you (like most of your ilk) keep ignoring it.
Why, because dealing with it is too difficult and abusing SKS is easier?

Crikey now you've done it - found this https://eurovision.tv/story/eurovision-2023-full-lineup
Had a quick look and all were awful - it's almost like they've forgotten this competition is for entertainment purposes only.
Anyway, I will have a closer look and report on my findings. It's the closest I'm going to get to politics these days.
PS - happy birthday Sky.

1) Albina from Albania
I don't know if it's me, but everything I come across these days reminds me of something else. In Albania's entry, Duje, Albina combines 1970s-style boots with a work raincoat and thoroughly modern eyebrows which bring to mind a cat called Groucho. The song itself recalls the beginning to something completely different that I can't quite put my finger on, and the kind of music that used to make me want to dance on Greek buses. But it also had occasional nods to Nina Hagan, which threw me. Meanwhile the story-telling in the video speaks of business meetings, a penchant for knitwear, modern fantasies about family gatherings and some kind of terrible tragedy. I'm sure there's something profound here, but I'm afraid it passed me by.
Clanger rating:
Was it fun? No
Was it dancey? No
What would Terry have said about it? I'd love to know.
