In my youth it was quite common for tramps to 'arrange' to be locked up for the winter .
26 in the deep cool behind the house, something else in front !
Off to the chemists and and a speedy dip in La Manche .
"It is not confined to the young. Older people, known on some wards as “revolving-door pensioners”, are deliberately self-neglecting so they can be looked after in hospital, particular in winter when energy bills are high.

Re: Monday 30th June 2025
I somehow managed to sit through Kendall's abject performance earlier. She was tin eared, patronising, evasive, and downright incompetent. So pretty much par for the course. She clearly doesn't understand the proposals or the 'concessions' (despite repeatedly referring to notes) and at one point after a waffling word salad gave a completely wrong answer about PIP reassessments which has had to be corrected by her own department. It's terrifying to think that someone so obviously inept has been put in a position where she has the power to ruin so many lives.
Anyone with even a modicum of intelligence and decency can see she's unfit to be in her job and the 'reforms' she's pushing through are a disastrous mess yet most of the parliamentary Labour party will vote them through tomorrow.

Upstairs bedroom is warm in winter because my son put in 30cms of blown -in cellulose, but once it gets warm it stays warm ....
