Afternoon then !
" And he called again for a youth mobility scheme, to widespread applause in the hall, including from Labour ministers. "
Off with their heads!

" Has curious gaps in his knowledge " -- my Latin teacher circa 1962 . ( After arriving back in England from time in the Caribbean)
So it's not very long ago that I even became aware of the existence of Bashkortostan (Bachkyrie) and very many other members of the Russian Federation, and tho I knew of Azerbaijan, mostly because of that lightning 2023 war with Armenia I'd be very vague on the geography
Mmmmm, a map --
( The North Caucasus consists of 8 Republics and other districts. )

Re: Wednesday 9th july 2025
The welfare bill third reading debate's going on at the moment, there's barely a Starmerite in sight but still enough to make twats of themselves.
At one point Kirsty Blackman was discussing the changes to the criteria for qualifying for the Universal Credit health element when some clown on the Labour benches (I didn't recognise him) stood up and smugly tried to patronise her by asking why she wasn't aware of the review that'll be held next year. The problem for him is that it's a review of the PIP criteria not UC. She only just managed to control her temper and tore shreds off him for still not understanding what they're talking about or voting on. It's utterly galling.

Zero sense of urrgency, they really are a bunch of incompetents.
In the much-repeated one from CiF ---
"if they'd been in charge in 1944 we here would be speaking German."

Re: Wednesday 9th july 2025
Wow, so the government have rushed the parliamentary procedure so much to reduce scrutiny that Stephen Timms didn't have time to finish his final statement about their own bill and got cut off by the speaker.
What a disgraceful farce.
