Re: Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th January 2026
-4 overnight and a couple of inches more snow, just as we'd got rid of the last lot. Still -3 and the road looks terrible, I usually buy a dead tree Guardian on Saturday but unless it improves dramatically I'm staying here, don't need anything else fortunately.
Hope all's well with frog.

Frog is fine weatherwise, thanks ! The hurricane turned into a violent storm, finding all the cracks around my rather dilapidated kitchen door . It's now 8° and sunny

The first small cackle of the day went to this --
and the only Gdn article I set aside to look at later was this --
Indonesia blocks Musk’s Grok chatbot due to risk of pornographic content
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/ ... ic-content
Only temporary, but better than bugger all !

Most youtubers go on far too long and Vita is one of them, so I usually watch snatches only. Still good for a view of ordinary life, street scenes for example -- Life Goes ON !
Over the New Year she took a car-load of home-assembled Angry Birds and other kit to her cousin in the front line, where she shared their living conditions .

Blatant lies and other Fake News are permitted free reign while SKS and accomplices smarm up to the Reform voters . When there's a Big Lie out there why not bloody DENOUNCE it , declare War ?

Haha someone hacked Toby Young's r-w 'think-tank' and published the donors list.
Weirdly, they're pretty anti-free speech about it, getting an urgent injunction.

As Barry Gardiner pointed out recently on WATO, they only did Criminal Damage, and being a first offence would have already served a sentence for that seeing the time passed on remand .
Also they have a regime intended for terrorists, in itself disputably hard.
Dominic Grieve agreed with the govt, another missing the point about their conditions .

Went out for food and drinks in freezing rain and the remains of snow.
Emerged into near tropical temperatures 2 hours later.
Totally normal.

Do any of us feel hopeful for this year? Or at all?
Are our lives better in any way?
Labour lists a load of achievements like they are wonderful gifts we'd previously been unaware of like cutting the benefits of everyone with mental health problems as of this April. Or slashing charity funding for refugees after cutting the aid budget. All that lovely stuff.
These people are ignorant cunts who think they know better than us.
What are we going to do about it?
