Good afternoon
Forrin view of SKS commenting on thousands of humans dead and millions displaced --
( British Prime Minister Keir #Starmer complained in an interview with ITV News that he is unhappy when energy bills go up and down due to the actions of the American and Russian presidents (and he was not invited). Someone should tell that person )

What's this £50 a month shit I just got from Yorkshire water? Fuck that, do they think a single bloke in a one bedroom flat is going to be drinking about 100 pints of water a day while taking endless showers and flushing the toilet over and over again for a laugh? You've got to be fucking kidding me. And don't get me started on trying to read the smart meters. Maybe this moving back into normal accommodation isn't such a good idea after all.
Not that I have much choice, the council are going to be doing a final inspection of this place (which I'll be staying at until I get broadband sorted at the new place) in a fortnight and if everyone's not out they'll be involving the police (though on what legal grounds I have no idea). So more by luck than judgement I've timed it perfectly.

Early morning Radio4 story ( 06.05 BST) about a teenager in love with an AI 'Companion' who from my early-morning take on it , coming in halfway through , cajoled him into committing suicide, something like --
" if you really love me , just some pain and then we'll be together" **
*** IF that's really what happened , and not the journo's embellishment, Google hasn't got a case .

Heart and Soul
When Megan Garcia travelled to Rome, she carried with her a mother’s grief.
At the Vatican she met the Pope and asked him to pray for her son Sewell, who died last year at the age of 14. In the months after his death, Megan discovered something she says she had never imagined: for more than a year, Sewell had been spending hours talking to an artificial-intelligence chatbot which he believed was a real person. He formed a deep emotional attachment to it, confiding in it about his life and feelings.
Megan believes that relationship played a part in her son’s death. She is now pursuing legal action against the company behind the chatbot, arguing that safeguards for young users were inadequate. The company disputes the claims.
