I'm not sure this is good for Labour.

Ooh, he really doesn't like being questioned does he? More of this please (and he should have had at least some of this scrutiny in the past).

Reform already starting to lose councillors. Long may this continue.

irritatingly Labour held onto the council ward I was voting in by less than a hundred votes, huge swing to the Greens though, whereas the Greens crushed them in the ward I've just moved from.

As for the city as a whole Labour lost overall control after losing eight councillors, with the Tories adding one in second, the Greens five in third and Reform eight in fourth.

So in truth in Leeds at least it could have been a lot worse for Labour, I was surprised they managed to hang on in at least three areas (including mine), but it was by the skin of their teeth.

As for Reform they were lucky, two of the wards they won in had an extra council seat available due to death/retirement and local independents who helped split the vote. Otherwise they won in places where when I was looking for somewhere to live I'd see a flat advertised and no matter how nice it looked think 'nope'.

On a positive note let's not lose sight of the fact that Reform's share of the vote was down from the previous local elections and their performances in Scotland and Wales fell well short of predictions, which only adds more evidence to suggest they're past their peak.

As for Starmer and his cronies they're all just going through the motions now. The rest of us are watching on with a kind of perverse fascination waiting for the first one of them to crack and bring the whole flimsy edifice down. I see the Guardian are going for Ed Miliband this evening. Bless. Don't get me wrong, I like Ed, but these are even harsher times than when he last had a go. Who would I want as Labour leader I hear you ask? Shit...Probably Rayner. Burnham's route is too convoluted and his previous leadership campaign was bloody awful.

Attic flat temp report. Outside reads about 7.5°, inside 19.2°.

Gordon Brown is an interesting choice.
When his own premiership was in jeopardy, Brown adopted a similar strategy, and brought back someone from Labours past, in an attempt to stave off electoral defeat.
You may recognise the name. It was a chap called Peter Mandelson.

Hands up who's surprised that the BoD are more comfortable with Farage than Polanski. Anyone?

I havent checked on Tommy Robinson recently , apart from remembering that he spends a lot of time in Israel .

Is he the next to be approved by the BoD ?

Monarchists and those with US and Israeli flags were in the counter-demonstration .

Met police uncaring, no reporting
