I have no idea why people are having trouble telling the difference between Burnham and Starmer. Totally different set of values.

There are some evil bean-counters at the Home Office.

One of their previous wheezes was this --
"" 6 Aug 2023 — Wrongly convicted people will no longer face having “saved living costs” deducted from compensation payments following an update to guidance made today. ""

Today Starmer told Burnham what he can't do on the defence budget. Perhaps he's hoping Carns will step up to delay the coronation ?

My primary school summer fairs had better attendance than this. This is hilariously pathetic.

In regard to the refugee tax, upon first reading about it (incredulously) today, my first thought was how much different is this to refugees being financially exploited by human traffickers?

There was a three car shunt at the traffic lights outside mine on Saturday.

This afternoon a young bloke approached me when I left the house saying he'd been driving one of the cars and was trying to collect evidence for insurance purposes and asked if I'd seen the incident. I told him I'd heard it but only witnessed the aftermath (I hadn't recognised him without blood pouring out of his nose). He then asked if he could see the footage on my phone and when I told him I hadn't filmed anything or taken any photos he was genuinely shocked. Why on earth would I film somebody else's car accident like some rubber necking voyeur? He harrumphed that it must be a generational thing but clearly inferred I was weird for not having done so. Anyway I pointed him in the direction of the CCTV camera on a massive pole across the road and asked, 'See that thing? Have you asked the council?' He hadn't even thought about it.

Obviously I began the World Cup supporting Scotland, which went badly, then shifted to Japan, who sadly disappointed, now all I have left are France, which feels like cheating.

That's the 'fair' that's celebrating America's 250th anniversary.
