Doesn't need fixing, eventually I decided to look at the boiler controls in case there was something obvious, he'd left the central heating temperature control on cold.

OUF ! That finished well after all

I was getting out the product to treat my entrance ( grass growing up between the tyre tracks swiftly accumulates earth and before you know it there's a bloody great hump ! ) then it started to drizzle . So I at last did the right thing and checked the forecast -- good news is sunny from Monday rising to 'hot 30° for one day the next weekend . So now I have three days before I can do that treatment and do the necessary mow after the recent rain .

Mower maintenance later, and first of all make sime real chips as a change from the frozen oven variety !

Out for a local shop, yesterday evening's diesel at 2.31 is now at 2.43 .

It is also COLD , so I put some twigs in the WB for tomorrow morning !

Evening. Got back earlier from my Flamborough caravan trip. It was great, t-shirt and shorts weather until the wind whipped up last night. I got a sea view, had some good walks, met some good people, and ate some good food (shout out to the Rose and Crown in Flamborough). It wasn't as wild and out of the way as folks had suggested to me, there were plenty of people around, but I didn't mind, it was an arsehole free zone. Apart from the farmer who'd deliberately blocked off a public right of way path with a double barbed wire fence wasting half an hour of my afternoon on Wednesday. Dick.

The best thing was the gannets, thousands of them still raising chicks a little way up the coast at Bempton cliffs RSPB reserve, easily the most I've seen away from the Bass Rock. As you walked along the cliff paths there'd be lines of them flying along just feet away, it was magical, apart from the smell.

Anyway, here's the lighthouse (with the foghorn at the end of the promontory), I took a lot of photos but one bit of white chalk cliff looks a lot like another so they're all nigh on identical.

The caravans in the Haven holiday camps keep things simple. The heating control panels have 2 choices, 23°or 18°. So if it's a bit chilly in the evening you can either boil alive or feel not quite warm enough. In practice this means repeatedly getting up and pressing the buttons up and down trying to maintain a desirable temperature while swearing profusely.

Oh and having spent a couple of hours in Bridlington on my way there and back it's certainly in a much better state than Scarborough. While venturing to the end of the harbour wall today I scurried behind a rowing club hut to avoid the wind and met Tim. Tim was chugging cheap supermarket lager at 11.30 in the morning. It was hard to tell how old Tim was, I'm guessing mid forties. He was most friendly, offering me a can, which I declined. He explained that he'd been a surfer and surf instructor from Scotland to South America and after probing his knowledge of the Scottish coast I was inclined to believe him. He was from Dorset originally and unfailingly polite. At one point a gust of wind caught the bin bag he was storing his empty cans in and it flew over the wall into the sea and he was distraught about its environmental impact.

It was sad to see such a pleasant fellow fallen on hard times, but if he was the standard of homeless person in Bridlington it's not doing too bad.
