Haha -- if they'd just said witches , instead of commies, it would sound desperately archaic ...RogerOThornhill wrote: Fri Feb 28, 2025 8:38 am Good morning.

Re: Friday 28th February 2025
Some interesting characters very typical of the Ukrainian war effort --
first a 25yo battle-scarred recon scout who now operates in a air/ground drone unit, and at the age of 12 won a Mastermind TV competition in Moscow . ( " My brain is probably less sharp now after several concussions " ... )
She always felt that the Russians regarded Ukrainians as inferior beings .
Next a long-haired youth running a factory building ground drones, robotic-dog scouts, and AI-assisted attack-drones .
His father is a surgeon in a 'stabilisation point' just behind the front line .

Sad to see Dodds go, but the days when she was one of Starmer's chief confidants were already some way in the past.

"I’m for both Ukraine and Russia”
Says it all.
Past American Presidents must be sitting there and wondering WTF?

Well, the glow of relief from Starmer coming out alive , only yesterday!, from a meeting with Trump has been well-effaced by this , from the Rowson **--

After the disgraceful bullying double act on Zelensky by Trump and Vance, the state visit should be cancelled. Europe is our way forward. Trump should be isolated diplomatically not molly coddled.

Completely agree. What an awful, awful way to speak to Zelensky. These are not people do do business with, no way, no how.
** I missed the live action as I was having my second siesta of the day !

Holy crap, Trump blew his lid. No wonder they've cancelled the press conference after this. Kudos to Zelensky, for not letting Trump get away with his bullshit and getting him on camera saying he'll provide support.

Re: Friday 28th February 2025
And we're bowing and scraping and giving a state visit to that disgusting piece of shit?
I've rarely seen anything that's repulsed me quite as much as how those two clowns treated Zelensky when they aren't fit to lick his boots.

Literally the one occasion in my life when I will be "fair" to Jenrick, but the mention of Churchill was designed to win over his audience. Which isn't us.

Re: Friday 28th February 2025
So we've got European leaders coming out in droves to state their support for Zelensky, even Robert Jenrick expressing his disgust, and yet what are we hearing from our own spineless government? Not a thing. Nada. Fucking crickets.
He might have got praise for it in the right wing press but Starmer's toadying creep routine yesterday is looking worse by the minute.

Re: Friday 28th February 2025
I mean there's a major meeting of European leaders this weekend, including Starmer.
Or you could just whine about him not producing a tweet within minutes instead.
The desire for instant gratification, all the time, is one of the things that has led us into this present state.

Well, it's lucky that all the other European leaders haven't said something. Otherwise Starmer would be looking a little spineless right now...AnatolyKasparov wrote: Fri Feb 28, 2025 9:24 pm I mean there's a major meeting of European leaders this weekend, including Starmer.
